Everyone else was given two assignments, but I was given three because I missed Tuesday's class, so I will be talking about it as homework here just to cut confusion. The first assignment was the In-Class Rhetorical Analysis, and we discussed about Tom Wolf's and Tom Corbett's campaign videos. We also had a Rhetorical Analysis to do in which we chose a video. I chose the video, "Potty-Mouthed Princesses Drop F-Bomb." It was a really controversial video in my opinion, and it brought back my writing groove. The last assignment is the Reflection I am currently writing and we have to link the three comments that we posted to the other classes Mr. Mangini teaches.
The first comment I posted was for the English 100-44, 9:35 AM class. I posted in Paige Thompson's blog in her Rhetorical Analysis post. My second comment I posted was for the English 100 -20, 12:20 PM class. I posted in Seungryeol Lee's blog in her Read the World - Ebola post. The third comment was for my class, English 100-48, 4:00 PM class. I posted my third comment on Kenny Naulty's blog in his Week 9 Reflection post.
As far as the Ethos, Logos, and Pathos, I am slowly gaining the concept through doing the work assigned, but I had a tough time. It is a technique for persuasion, and needless to say, but I suck at creating persuasion or falling for persuasion.
In Personal Life: I had a good week. Busy, but good. I had my National Honor Society Induction ceremony, and it was okay but kinda lame. I don't mean to sound judgmental, but the people were a little strange. Hey, maybe they thought I was too. I am taking a Tech Writing class in my high school, and we had Thursday, Friday, and Monday off, so I got some morning time to take care of chores.
I started my job on Monday, and it was a lot of fun. Work is like a vacation from home. It really was. Finding pants for work was tough though.
I had gone to Target and knew they had a specific pair of pants that was in clearance and I wanted to hurry before it was gone. I found a pair of size 10, and needed a size 4. Since the clearance section was pretty messy, and my time was limited, I know I can ask the associate if it was worth my time looking through that mess. I see the associates and notice them standing and holding a conversation among themselves. So I kindly go up and ask if they could check if the pants were available in their machine. Of course, it could change in the day and will not be updated. Instead she gives me the ridiculous answer of looking through the section, whatever is out there is out there. Wait a second... It looks like a pigsty. I got to customer service and complain politely. Next morning, the clearance section was really neat, but I found the pants off in some other rack without a clearance tag. That was pure luck.
The last problem I came across is the fact I need to remove the AC from my window already. The siding is coming off, so I taped it with duct tape because I need someone's help to remove it right now. As for as the cold temperatures, I like it. Anyways, I also have to be careful of my cats trying to do crazy things, and at 6 in the morning I hear this digging and see a little hole, I go to take a look with a panicky feeling that my cat might be outside the window.....DUN DUN DUN, it was a squirrel. Since I am very verbal with my cats, and they understand what I say, I spoke to the squirrel in my sleepy state and the thing jumped off. I put some new tape and went right back to bed till 7.
