Now, I will begin by describing the ethos of Tom Wolf's message. To bring the ethical and credible appeal to his message, he used some of the things that he has done. One example could be the appeal to senior citizens and his employees. He protected state lottery for seniors, donates his government salary, and pays more to his employees.
The logos in his message is to describe how he has done on a smaller scale, and you as the viewer will reason on the bigger scale.
Lastly, I would like to describe his pathos. He uses this appeal to say that he drives an old jeep rather than a state car. He seems to be a very levelheaded man according to this video.
Tom Corbett's Campaign Video
In Tom Corbett's video he also used ethos, logos, and pathos. He wants to gain your votes as well. Since he was state representative, he has some past experiences to offer.
As part of his credibility in his ethos, he stated what he has done. He has cut spending in Pennsylvania by cutting funding to programs. He has kept taxes lower as well.
In the same way, the credibility Tom Corbett used could be used for logos. You can reason, well cut spending and no taxes while getting ahead sounds like a good plan.
In his pathos, he gains emotional support by using the "you saved money" tactic. He wants to gain your vote by using your emotions towards the money you are saving.
Possible questions from these videos could be, "What are the negative effects of spending cuts?" "Is there another way we could gain taxes?"
