As far as I watched of the film, I found it to be awakening as far as our food industry. The processed food we eat is absolutely gruesome, the meat we eat is atrocious, and the vegetables we eat is a disgrace as well...It catches you into a catch 22 spin around.
Through the film, we also have to figure out if there were any possible claims that we would want to research for our i-search paper. One claim that I found interesting was the part of soybeans and their resistance to weed killers. The thought is pretty nasty, but what effect could it have on us if we eat it? Does it decrease nutrient value?
I was also fascinated about the diabetes type 2 especially since my dad has it. Although the food is a major factor for this chronic disease, could exercise be another factor? Just from personal experience, kids I see don't really exercise. Back when I was in an actual school instead of homeschool, we would sit at a desk all day, and get 1 hour of gym a week. Not to mention, our recess was only 15 minutes and they loaded us up on homework that they never really taught. This also led to bigger questions on ADHD.
Aside from class, some other research questions that came to mind had to do with ADHD. Recently I read an article about kids in France were barely diagnosed with ADHD and instead were treated in other ways rather than medicine. This article was called, "Why French Kids Don't Have ADHD."
Into my personal life, its been crazy as usual. Since I'm a high school dual enrolled student at the college, I have to have funds upfront to take courses, luckily I can pass the due date to pay it. Scrounging for money is not fun, but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to take my Winter course this winter (probably sums up my holidays, bahahah).
I had a minor cold or maybe allergies this weekend, it is so hard to tell. I still went to work, because I love to work. The only problem is winding after work and going into sleeping mode. I get so hyped.
Other than that, I really hope this week goes better, and has more interesting things in store.
